‘Tis the season for giving. And as we scroll through the holiday sales finding gifts for everyone on our list, we find ourselves buying stuff that are one-size-fits-all.
Even though one-size-fits-all makes for convenient presents, like scarves and gift cards, it doesn’t actually apply to ALL. One thing that is becoming more apparent as we go through our individual healing journeys is that our journeys couldn’t look any more different.
Even being raised by the same parents in the same household, both of us are navigating very individual healing journeys. One of us snail mails the other self-help books, while the other bombards the other with podcast links… and these best intention “gifts” are usually met with the response: When the f*ck am I going to have time to read/listen to this?!
Surprisingly, these unexpected nudges are usually what we need to change our habits or give us a shift in perspective. One of us will find ourselves picking up a book at the end of the day instead of watching tv, and the other one will play a podcast instead of listening to NPR. And it’s always worth it. Even if it’s not something that resonates with us, we are fine-tuning our healing journey with what works and what doesn’t.
Just like we constantly share with each other what works for us, we feel that it’s incredibly important that we share these things with you too. Whether it's a change in our diet, a different type of yoga, the latest sustainable gadget, a podcast that turns our day around, or our new favorite book... we want to share the myriad of ways we each find peace, comfort, ease, and love in our lives.
Starting in January, you can find products and services listed on our website under “our tool kit.” We will be posting what we’ve tried, what we think, and how it helps us heal. We have already realized that some products or services help both of us, but many times it makes sense for one and not the other.
What we hope is that something will resonate with you, pique your interest, or give you a little push in the direction you want to go. We hope that looking through our tool kits will encourage you to add some new healing tools to yours.
Because at ming+ming, we don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all when it comes to health and wellness. It’s crucial that we all find our own unique path, so the changes you make are meaningful and sustainable.
Stay tuned for the launch of our new page and follow us on our instagram stories to see how we incorporate these tools into our everyday lives!
With love, Ming-Wai + Ming-Cee
