Over the years, we’ve realized that it takes a lot of energy just to figure out what works and what doesn’t. And we have also discovered that what works for one of us, doesn’t work for the other. That’s why it’s so important to keep discovering new tools that work for you and incorporate them into your existing routines… no matter how small.
“When talking about time traveling to the past, people worry about accidentally changing the present, but no one in the present really thinks they can radically change the future.”

We love this quote because it reminds us that we never know what seemingly small change can be the catalyst for a life-changing shift in our future. Discovering one little healthy habit like taking 5 deep breaths before logging on to work or finding a yoga class you love, and incorporating it into your existing routine, will absolutely lead you to healthier decisions and increase your likelihood of success.
But we are all different so there is a good chance that when you discover a new healthier habit, you may also realize that it’s not for you or it’s just not the right time. You may question if there’s something wrong with you since so many people have recommended it and love it. But just know, if it doesn’t fit into your unique lifestyle and schedule, it might not be worth the investment of your limited time and precious energy. It’s okay if the newest health fad doesn’t resonate with you.
For example, starting the day “right” with early morning rituals seems near impossible for Ming-Cee, and going on a camping trip to connect more with nature would never work for Ming-Wai. Instead of encouraging each other to embrace a new routine that wouldn’t fit into our unique lifestyle, we have realized that discovering what works best for each of us is the only way we will embrace and maintain the changes for a healthier life.
So don’t get discouraged if something doesn’t work, it’s all part of the journey. When in doubt, we encourage you to pause, shift, and keep trying to discover what does work for you. Or if you’re not ready to put in the time, then we even suggest you keep committing the crime.
Starting in January, our Wednesday evening yoga for tension release will be replaced with yoga for inner core. We invite you to discover a new class with us.
Yoga for inner core focuses on the area behind the belly button down to the lower spine and targets the muscles of the pelvic floor and deep core. It’s a slow-paced yoga class designed for all levels of experience and will benefit those with lower back pain, poor posture, and postpartum healing (no matter how old your children are).
We are excited to introduce our newest yoga instructor Justyna. We know she will be an incredible addition to our ming+ming community. And on the same note, this will be Ming-Wai's last couple weeks of teaching yoga so join us for yoga for tension release on Wednesdays! Discover what's new and more through our newsletters and Instagram!
With love,
Ming-Wai + Ming-Cee
